Fans flock to see Barca stars
Almost 13,000 Barcelona fans watched the team train at the Mini Estadi in Catalonia on Thursday.
The open training session has become an annual event and it was popular as a crowd of mainly children almost filled the home of Barcelona’s reserve side.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets strutted their stuff at the session which came just a day after the Catalan giants thumped Osasuna 4-0 in the Copa del Rey in the first leg of their round of 16 clash.
“The most important thing is that Barcelona won,” Busquets said of the victory.
“That’s what matters most. We played well enough I thought against a team who are having a great season, and we take an excellent result into the return leg, which will certainly not be easy in Pamplona.”
“Osasuna are a team who we need to respect, so we will need to be at our best.”
After the training session, the players made their traditional visit to local hospitals around the city in which they donated approximately 4,000 presents.
Barcelona’s first task once the La Liga winter break ends is a road trip to Espanyol on January 8.
They currently trail table-toppers Real Madrid by three points after 16 games of the season.
