Deportivo La Coruna’s recovery from a nightmare start to the season got back on track with a 1-0 win over Hercules at the Estadio Riazor.

Substitute Nouioui Lassad scored the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute to lift Depor to 12th in the table, not long after having been rock bottom of La Liga.

Victory was the Galacian club’s fifth in their last eight games and they have now taken 17 points during the same period.

In a close-fought game of few chances, it took until mid-way through the second half for the deadlock to be broken when Depor netted what proved to be the winner.

A clipped cross by Saul Fernandez from a free-kick was met by Colotto who headed back across the face of goal for Lassad to nod home.

The substitute had only been on the pitch seven minutes, having replaced Adrian.

Hercules had a decent chance to level in stoppage time but failed to convert it and Esteban Vigo’s side dropped to defeat.
