There is still no stopping Borussia Dortmund as Jürgen Klopp’s men made it 13 wins from their last 14 league matches with a 2-0 win at 1. FC Nürnberg after Bayer 04 Leverkusen won a five-goal thriller against 1. FC Köln.

Dortmund have enjoyed a remarkable start to the season and their good form showed no sign of relenting once Mats Hummels had put his side ahead midway through the first half. Though their advantage was slender throughout, Robert Lewandowski made sure of the points two minutes from time, taking the surprise Bundesliga frontrunners ten points clear at the top after 15 matches.

Leverkusen had been hoping to put some sort of pressure on Dortmund with their 3-2 win but did at least close to within a point of 1. FSV Mainz 05, who lost at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. Köln’s Pedro Geromel (27) wasted no time in cancelling out Patrick Helmes’s opener (26), yet Tranquillo Barnetta (55) and Stefan Reinarz (61) restored control for the home side before substitute Martin Lanig (65) pulled one back for the visitors to make for a tense finale.
