Sevilla open talks for Mladen Petric
January 5, 2012
Sevilla have opened negotiations with Hamburg striker Mladen Petric, German daily Bild reports.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Imtech Arena is set to expire at the end of the season and he is unlikely to sign a contract extension.
According to Bild, Sevilla want to sign the Croat as a replacement for Freddy Kanoute, who is in the closing stage of his career.
Los Rojiblancos have already contacted the player’s representatives regarding a summer move, although they could face stiff competition from top German clubs.
Petric has been in pretty good form this season, having scored 4 goals in 11 Bundesliga games.
