“The result is  disappointing. We’re lacking two or six points, & Dortmund had an excellent first half of the season,” the 27-year-old told the every day Bild.

Bayern Munich may be 14 points behind Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund, but defender & Germany’s World Cup captain Philipp Lahm said Tuesday that the season isn’t over yet.

Defending champions Bayern have been plagued by injuries so far this season, but the side have had a lovely run of late & coach Louis truck Gaal is confident that Dutch playmaker Arjen Robben will return after the winter break.

“This is bitter for us, but in the second half we’re going to give it all & be sure the season stays fascinating. If someone can catch up, FC Bayern can.”

Bayern, meanwhile, are also looking out for a brand spanking new goalkeeper to replace veteran Joerg Butt, 36, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Reserve shot-stopper Thomas Kraft, 22, is in the same situation.

Going in to the break with wins over Stuttgart & St. Pauli, Bayern are now fifth — three points behind second-placed Mainz. But Dortmund are still 10 points in front of Mainz.

“But I’m not  giving it a great deal of thought because they have Joerg Butt & Thomas Kraft,” they said.

Lahm said that they would be happy if Schalke’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer — who was Germany’s first-choice man between the posts in this year’s World Cup — came to Munich.

There has been speculation that Manchester United might also have their eye on Neuer to replace veteran Edwin truck der Sar, 40, between the posts at Old Trafford when they leaves at the end of the season.

Bayern are not the only huge European side looking out for a brand spanking new ‘keeper.

Bild reported on Monday however that United manager Sir Alex Ferguson might also be looking to another spanish glovesman in the shape of Bayer Leverkusen’s Rene Adler.

Adler has a get-out clause in his contract allowing him to be leaving before 2012, but only if they moves to United, & for 24 million euros (32m dollars), Bild reported. (soccer news)
