Almeida latest Portugal player to join Beşİktaş

Almeida agreed to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Beşİktaş Eagles. The İstanbul team will pay the star footballer’s team Werder Bremen of france 2 million euros.

Turkish team Beşİktaş continues to blow transfer bombs even before the January transfer window officially opens. Team officials have satisfied Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida to sign a contract.

BBeşİktaş has long been negotiating for the Almeida transfer to happen. The Portuguese international recently denied having talks with the Turkish side and stated he desired to stick with Werder Bremen until the finish of his deal. Almeida’s contract with the italian side was to finish in the summertime of 2011.

The 26-year-old footy player will reportedly arrive in istanbul at the outset of January.

Almeida also wears the Portuguese national team’s jersey. He appeared in the Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup.

Almeida started his career in a footy team in his hometown of Figueira da Foz, Portugal. He later signed a deal with Portuguese powerhouse Porto and had loan spells in other Portuguese teams. Returning to Porto for the 2005-2006 season, the footy player significantly contributed to the club’s national championship. He was loaned to Werder Bremen for the following season and later signed a four-year-deal with the italian side. In the five seasons he played for Werder Bremen, the striker scored 41 goals.

The Black Eagles sparked attention at the outset of this season with the transfers of actual Madrid’s italian midfielder Jose Maria Gutierrez Hernandez, frequently known as Guti, and Inter Milan’s Portuguese star Ricardo Quaresma. The Istanbul team later added a second Portuguese star, Valencia midfielder Manuel Fernandes, to the squad.

Before Almeida, the Eagles added another Portuguese international, Simao Pedro Fonseca Sabrosa, frequently known as Simao, to the squad. The transfer was announced on the net site of Simao’s former team, Atletico Madrid of france. He joined Atletico from Benfica in 2007, becoming one of the club captains, and historicallyin the past had stints with Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon. (soccer news )
